A very active sales week for domains. Two big sales were reported, breaking past records. The number one sale was Insure.com for $16 million! The domain name was purchased by QuinnStreet who provides marketing technologies to customers in need of sales leads. There is belief that there was more than a domain name involved which may include site and assets. Originally this domain sold for $1.6 million in 2001. Insure.com is a killer category for life insurance, health care, auto insurance and many other insurance related purposes.
Ticket.com sold for $1.525,000, another sale breaking the all time top chart. The name was sold by AfternicDLS, a domain listing service. Pete Lamson the general manager of NameMedia posted on The Domains that the details “remain private at the request of the buyer or seller.” It is currently being parked, but once developed this quality domain should generate top ticket sales.
There was also the sale of Software.com for a undisclosed amount!

Wow, I had no idea domains sold for that much. Especially one like Ticket.com where there doesn’t seem to be many other assets involved. That’s crazy.
Hi Cody,
Thanks for your comment.
This is a category killer which will command top dollar. It should be interesting to see how it will be developed.
Exceptional is the only word I can find to describe your content. I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I’ve found such terrific writing. I concur with your points of interest. Great job!
