As the new decade rolls in we look back at 2009 at some great domain names that were sold. Total 2009 sales adds up to $18,150,000 a 11% increase from 2008 sales of $16,118,642. All top ten 2009 sales being dot coms, where in 2008 there was 4 ccTLDs in the mix. There were other large sales reported such as Cricket.com for $1.7 mil, DropShippers.com for $1.5 mil and Insure.com sold for $16 mil, but these were full fledged online businesses that included more than just a domain name.

4.) Auction.com purchased by REDC Group for $1,700,000 in a private sale on 3/24/09. Operating as a online foreclosure real estate auction site. Ranking Google PR 6 — Alexa 29,270
