You searched high and low, it wasn’t easy, it took a lot of time and effort. Finally you purchased a great domain name for your business. Now what? Well, besides taking on the daunting task of developing and designing, whether its an e-commerce site or informational site, you still have to promote the domain name. You just don’t sit back and expect people to flock to your site. Today competition is tough, you have to do more than just link building, SEO, SEM and being index by search engines. Your memorable domain name is your calling card, a central place where your audience can and will find you. Cannot remember phone number – domain name. Cannot find fax number – domain name. Cannot remember the brand – generic domain name. Don’t forget, your site becomes a living and breathing entity that lets you communicate with your customers, contacts and peers.
So.. it’s back to the basics.. yes – old school advertising on shoe string budget. Now that you have some WOW names, show them off!
Some creative advertising will do.
- Business Card – no small print, use a large bold font on one side.
- Stationery – letter head, footer, content, envelopes
- Logo – include it in your logo, image and link
- Brochure & Flyers – every page, top and bottom.
- Catalog – front and back covers, all pages, spec sheets, price list
- Labels – reordering labels, shipping labels, CD & DVD
- Forms – order form, questionnaires, Rx
- Packaging – boxes, packing tape, bags, cans, bottles
- Faxes – program your domain name for outgoing
- Email - signature, address
- Promotional Items – key-chain, coffee cups, pens, shirts, hats, squeeze toy, buttons, magnets, calendar…
- Exhibit Booth - project across convention hall.
- Company Vehicles - magnetic signs or decals
- PR Booklets – press kits, press release, pdf
- Presentations – PowerPoint, hard copies, videos, audio
- Products - item label or graphics
- Voice Message – phone system
- ..and of course, good old “word of mouth”
It’s your name, it will convey your identity clearly and well.
