NYC DOMAINFest : Domain Auction Contest and Prize

NYC Domain AuctionOversee.net announced in a press release today the domain list offered at DOMAINFest in Manhattan on Aug 18, 2010. The one day event will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel featuring  Power Networking throughout the day, with Moniker Auction from 4-7 p.m. ET. The list has some killer category domains worth considering and should draw excitement in bidding. So.. I thought it would be fun to have a contest based on this news. The first to speculate, in the comment section below, which domain will be the best sale and  closest to predict closing price, will receive a $50 account credit at Moniker. This is not a sponsored post, it’s all in the spirit of fun.

Clearly Quotes.com has the highest Valuate.com value, as I figured… just over $9 million in fact. I think alcohol and patents could do well too. But I’ll go with stocks.com at 650K.

the sellers and their asking prices are very interesting. I suspect that the high end names won’t go for those prices. Though there are certainly some great names, it may be that there are *too many* great names.

As much as I hate to say it, I’m going with dating.net for $125k

Companion.com, DownloadPornos.com and Stocks.com are priced exceptionally low in my opinion? People must be on hard times these days to put them at such reserves.
